The Care Advice Centre was founded in 2011 when a gap was identified in the advice and support available for people when making decisions regarding their care needs. The Care Advice Centre offers an independent, flexible, tailor-made approach to care planning without the time, eligibility and budgetary constraints associated with Local Authority services.
When considering care options, whether it is in one’s own home, respite care or a residential or nursing setting, it is vital that people are able to access high quality information and advice to support their decision making. By working closely with individuals, their families and carers, the Care Advice Centre can support people through an often difficult transition. The Care Advice Centre provides a holistic service, considering clients entitlement for benefits or eligibility for NHS Continuing Healthcare.
The Care Advice Centre is a friendly, approachable team of Independent Social Workers with vast experience working within Adult Social Care. This gives our assessors a good understanding of the care and support system which can be complex and difficult to navigate. All the team are registered with the Health & Care Professions Council and members of the British Association of Social Workers. The Care Advice Centre is an affiliated member of the Society for Later Life Advisers.
The Care Advice Centre has excellent connections with:
Independent Social Worker, Anna Callow, qualified with a Masters in Social Work in 2006. Since this time Anna has worked within Local Authority Adult Social Care Teams and gained the level of Senior Practitioner. Anna joined the Care Advice Centre in 2018 and became Director of the company in 2019.
Anna has vast experience with supporting people to make decisions regarding their care and support. Anna has successfully helped many clients with their claims for NHS Continuing Healthcare funding.
Anna is a qualified Practice Educator – supporting trainee social workers through their practice placements. This role involves teaching the students the core values and ethics of social work as
well as the legislation to which we practice and the theories that guide us. All trainee social workers must meet the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) hosted by the British Association of Social Workers. As a Practice Educator, Anna guides them through attaining these standards.
